About the Branch

Welcome to the Leeds & York Community Health Branch

The Branch has members from over 380 different employers, with as little as one member in an organisation to over 1,000 in larger employers.

There are a large number of members in our Branch who are employed in the CVS (Community & Voluntary Sector) – care homes, nursing homes, hospices, GP surgeries, dental practices, etc.

Reps (or activists) cover their own employers and cannot represent in other organisations.  Each workplace has different policies and procedures.

The Branch employs two caseworkers to cover the CVS. We also have a full-time Officer Manager and Branch Administrator.  The Branch is open weekdays 9am to 4pm.

We have reps available to support you wherever you work.  However, we are always looking for more people to get involved.  If this is something that you might be interested in there then please get in touch with us.

As a branch we actively campaign for high quality services in the NHS and the voluntary sector. We feel that good working conditions and environments are essential to delivering high quality care.

This branch has representatives that are actively involved in negotiating policies which affect your day-to-day working lives.

We strive to deliver a first-class service to our members.

If you are not a member already, why not join us and benefit from the support, services and strength that being a member of UNISON can provide.  Being a member of UNISON is more than the membership card or the feeling of being protected in the workplace.
